The RICH dress is a study in sculptural form and luxurious material presence. It is crafted from rare Japanese kimono silk, collected over years by the designer, featuring a cloudy, sophisticated pattern in brass and burnt sienna, enriched by the subtle irregularity of black yarn. The edges of the rolls in black were left raw and incorporated as-is into the garment, preserving the authentic character of the original fabric. This is a single-layer construction, with no lining, allowing the architectural structure and natural texture of the silk to define the silhouette.
The silhouette is reduced to a square, allowing form to emerge through gesture rather than construction. Two elongated triangular ties extend from the body, offering endless ways to wrap, drape, and shape — defining the waist, altering the length, or concealing volume as desired. Each configuration becomes an individual expression, shaped by phantasy.
